Inner City Living

I think it is about finding solutions that flourish in the future, long term solutions. I think I have a few in the starting holes, here is one.

The inner city building owners need all the support they can get, from Historic Place Trust, ICC, ILT, Government, for making sense of the earthquake proofing and the profitability of their investments.

I think as many buildings in the center need upstairs apartments.

Reason being is simple- when people live on the main streets, going in and out of their flats, walking the streets, there could be an attractive picture created which makes the city look more lively.

People would use the cafes, bars, restaurants, shops more casual, which should inspire others to do the same.

I remember my first day in this town and me and my friend wanted to go to a pub and restaurant at about 4 or 5pm.

THE TOWN WAS DEAD. 15 years ago. It hardly changed in that matter.

Not very appealing for outsiders and tourists.

Maybe those buildings could become part of a bigger picture, which I will address in a different post (City/ Peoples Assets)
